Crispy baked chicken wings tossed in a hot and sweet honey, sriracha sauce with ginger, garlic and cumin. I have taken another long break from blogging. But for once, it was not because I was lazy, but because I was super busy, with work…and baking as well. Crl’s son’s school was hosting a Diwali
Recipe for soft, melt in the mouth pancakes with creamy paneer or cottage cheese. Tring tring. The shrill sound of the cell phone startled me and everyone around. My mother peered at the bright blue screen to find my cousin’s name blinking across it. “It’s them.” I giggled. I knew my cousin was call
June 1st. This is the day that most schools reopen in Kerala. It is also when the monsoons are supposed to hit the state as if determined to muddy the shiny new uniforms and bags as soon as possible. It was my first day at my new school in Kerala (I studied in Oman till class VII) and I was ecstatic
The colour of blood is Red. Red also indicates grave danger. Love is often expressed artistically by an arrow piercing a Red heart. Blood = Red Danger = Red Love = Red By the transitive property, Danger = Love = Blood (shed). Didn’t you always wonder if the mathematical properties you learnt at scho
Fried Chicken that is crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside. I knew I had you with the title of this chicken fry -Crispy and Juicy Fried Chicken- who in the right mind would resist that? I was updating my resume recently and after a bit of counting on my fingers, I noted down a total experience of 8.3 years. Twinkling stars and decked up trees, the red nosed Rudolph and jolly old Santa, festive wreaths and shiny angels, joy and hope, reds whites and greens; it’s so difficult to contain the excitement that Christmas brings along And equally enticing is all the food that happens during the holiday season
My friend Crl told me recently that November was upon us and it was almost time to soak raisins in rum (for Christmas cake). And that statement plus all the wonderful baking happening on Rachel Allen’s Cake Diaries made me want to bake a cake more than anything else ever did! Determined to make som
There are women (and men) out there who feel that every meal for their family should include, but not be limited to rice, roti, a vegetarian side, a non vegetarian side, a salad, curd rice and a sweet. There are also super people out there who cook a fresh meal every time instead of re heating left overs. In all honesty, I don’t aspire to be one of them. Seriously, this is not a case of sour grapes. It is just too taxing and I would rather spend my free time watching people cook five course meals on TV.
This one pot pasta is the kind of meal I would be happy cooking and eating during busy week nights. There is very less cutting and chopping involved, takes only about 25 minutes to be ready from start to finish, and leaves only one pot and a cutting board to be washed up. It has sausages, bacon, melted cheese and tomato. So delicious that everyone is happy.
